The full story of the Crimson Heart — and the bloody history written across the kingdom of Vargheist.
Chapter One
Hundreds of years ago, in the war-dark midlands of a kingdom that would come to be called Vargheist, humans found something they were never meant to find: an ancient source of supernatural power, pulsating beneath the foundations of a ruined castle. They called it the Crimson Heart.
Its power changed everything it touched. It promised the one thing every mortal king had failed to buy — an answer to death itself. Two powerful bloodlines reached for it first, and neither was willing to let the other hold it. What followed was not a war for a kingdom. It was a war for eternity.
The First Age
It is said that Lord Dracul used the Crimson Heart's power to escape death entirely — the first vampire, and the founder of a noble line that would hunt its own humanity before hunting any other prey.
The First Age
Wolves from the northern hills, sworn to destroy the Heart before it could corrupt them — were cursed instead, transformed by the Heart's backlash into the first werewolves.
The Century of Ash
Their war burned across Vargheist and nearly destroyed it. Vampire against werewolf, castle against cave, mob against mob — until the kingdom lay in ashes and neither race could claim victory.
The Long Silence
Bleeding out, both races vanished into hiding. Humans rebuilt. Legends became fairy tales for children — warnings by firelight about the races that once tore the world apart.
Now
Something has stirred beneath the ruins of the original castle. The Crimson Heart is beating again. Monsters roam the wilderness. Villagers disappear. And an ancient Blood Moon rises.
Chapter Two
You awake shortly after being transformed — turned into a Vampire or a Werewolf with little more than instinct, a heartbeat you no longer fully own, and a hunger you do not yet understand. The first few quests are a survival lesson: movement, combat, abilities, feeding, questing, and exploration.
Your goal is not simply to defeat the opposite faction. It is to survive the cursed world, uncover what truly created the two bloodlines, grow stronger — and ultimately decide what becomes of the Crimson Heart. Because the war between the houses is only the surface. The true threat is something older than both races — something the Heart was binding back.
