The Regions
The old war left its scars in stone. Battlefields of the bloodlines' century — their towers still hold dust, shadows, and something dwelling in the cellars beneath.
The treeline moves when you aren't looking. Wolves are not always wolves, and trails written by prey often end before they begin.
Cold fires, shuttered doors, and villagers who vanish one by one. Hollowmere is only the loudest of a dozen silent settlements.
The dead do not rest quietly under a Blood Moon. Old wards hold, old names are chanted, and old things answer.
Old wards, older secrets, and the bones of the first bloodlines. The ones who tried to seal the Heart are still down there.
The beating source of it all — the ruined chamber where the Crimson Heart was found. What walks the tunnels beneath it, no map describes.

Hunter's Diary — Entry 13
"Villagers have been disappearing every night. We searched abandoned houses and questioned the few who still speak. Then we found the tracks — leading into the forest, to a chapel whose doors have been locked for a century. A cult is beneath it. And beneath them... something is feeding."
— Survivor's notes, on the Hollowmere Vigil
Villagers disappear every night in Hollowmere. The investigation pulls you through abandoned houses and shuttered shops, to the uneasy testimony of the few villagers who still whisper — then out along worn tracks into the fog and down into the dark beneath the village chapel.
Some missions speak differently depending on your bloodline. A vampire may charm a confession out of a watching elder; a werewolf may sniff out the trail where a fence hides the tracks. The cult beneath the chapel believes it is performing sacrifices. The thing they are feeding, however, has its own idea of what a sacrifice is.
Hollowmere is the first of many investigation quests — a template for how faction flavor changes the hunt.
The Horrors
Human worshippers who believe the Heart will raise them. They are the most dangerous of all — because they believe.
Monsters born of a young vampire's feast — no memories, no control, all hunger. Kill before they wake the nest.
Werewolves who lost their pack to the war, and lost their minds with it. They hunt everything that moves, alone.
Mortal champions empowered by the Heart's bleeding light. They believe they are saving Vargheist — the way every zealot does.
Blood Moon nights, hunter migrations, and Heart surges — an open-world beat that turns regions into war zones on a cycle.
Whatever the Heart was binding back, beneath all the war and the ash and the bloodlines — it does not sleep anymore.
